The method of using an orthographic transformation to linearize spectra is getting used more frequently. A research group from the Beijing National Observatory of Space Environment in China has used the method for the analysis of video meteor spectra and is publishing the results now.

Sipeng Yang et. al., MIOS optical subsystem for determining physical and chemical properties of meteors producing plasma irregularities, in Advances in Space Research (April 2021, in press). The research group kindly added me to the author list, after interesting conversations with them about the meteor spectrum calibration method.

In the paper also described is the determination of orbit elements and other characteristics of the meteors for different meteor streams, to be combined with ionospheric plasma and radar measurements in a follow up publication.
